I would have liked to have had more on the alchemy and western esoteric traditions, and the gnosis state, as was eluded to in some of the marketing. Any of them would have been interesting in isolation but all together form a readable and accessible introduction even for the 'lay' person like me. This book brings up great points about the problems in ayahuasca tourism, the paradigm of indigenous american culture verse westernized culture in our perceptions and cultural presets and the future of psychedelics in western culture. This book was a great overview of Ayahuasca and how it fits into the current psychedelic climate. My only complaint is Sophia's section are tiny. I hope she writes her own book! He is prolific and having the help of a botanist really helps you understand the complexity of the plant species involved in this entheogen. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
